(Queens, NY) – Today, Congressman Joe Crowley (D-NY), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, was endorsed by leading union and labor organizations in New York City.

“We commend Congressman Joseph Crowley for his tireless efforts on behalf of working people, and we are proud to support his reelection campaign,” said Joseph Geiger, Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the District Council of Carpenters. “Crowley’s commitment to enforcing worker protections and prevailing wage laws has truly advanced the rights of workers in areas of the Bronx and Queens while serving as an example for the rest of New York State.”

“Working people need strong advocates in Washington, D.C. We count on members of Congress like Joe Crowley to stand up and fight for our rights. In Congress, Joe has fought tirelessly for a $15 minimum wage, he introduced legislation to ensure workers rights are protected by banning non-compete agreements, and he worked to protect Obamacare and championed expanded health care for all. Joe knows that workers need to be treated with dignity, justice, and respect, which is why we are proud to endorse his candidacy,” said Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU).

”The Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA, Local 1000, AFSCME) representing over 300,000 members and retirees across New York state is proud to endorse Rep. Joe Crowley for the 14th congressional district. Congressman Crowley has been a long time champion of working men and women in his district, fighting to protect workers’ rights, and making sure everyone has a fair shot at the American dream. He has been a strong supporter of organized labor which fights every day to make sure working people are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. At this time when unions, including very much public sector unions, are under attack like never before, we need strong allies like Congressman Crowley in Washington D.C.,” said Danny Donohue, CSEA President.

“Joe Crowley has always stood with working men and women and we’re proud to stand with him today. The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement Workers of America Region 9A knows that Joe will lead the fight for higher wages and investments in the American economy that will lift up working families. Our members are proud to endorse Congressman Crowley for re-election,” said “The International Longshoreman’s Association, AFL-CIO, strongly endorses Joe Crowley for re-election! He’s been a champion for working men and women and has always fought for our rights, wages, and benefits in Congress,” said Harold Daggett, President of the ILA.

Our members are proud to endorse Congressman Crowley for re-election,” said UAW Region A9 Director Julie Kushner.

“Since being elected in 1999, Congressman Crowley has shown that he fundamentally understands the role that the arts, music, and musicians play in our cultural identity and economy,” said Tino Gagliardi, President, Local 802 AFM. “His love and commitment to music have been demonstrated both in his passion for performance and his strength as a legislator, pushing and advocating for legislation that better protects the intellectual property of those who create music for people across the world to listen to and enjoy. Our union looks forward to continuing to work closely with Joe, and I’m confident that he will continue to be a strong ally for musicians across this country.”

Congressman Crowley has long advocated and supported policies that benefit the men and women of labor.
